Impact of the electricity market on electrical power system (EPS) operation: role of utilities, end-users, limitations of transmission and distribution power networks, new methods for static analysis of the EPS, sensitivity analysis, optimal load-flow calculations according to different criteria. Ancillary services: demand forecast, load and active-power reserve, active-power and frequency regulation, reactive power and voltage control, new methods for assessing voltage stability, provision of ancillary services. Reliability of EPS, reliability indices. Probabilistic concepts in EPS  operation and electricity markets.
